    Blue Jumper Clear Tags

Does anyone use clear sticker tags on lens? I would think it leaves some glue on there. Unless you used a removable adhesive tag. Does anyone use clear tag that hugs side of frame, or does that bother customers? I think the best idea is something printable that hugs side of frame either hanging off or stuck directly on thicker frames. What's best? Does handwritting vs printing even make a difference.:hammer:

Any glue left can easily be removed with "Markaway" or similar products.

:D We've tried through the years just about every type of frame tag out there. I finally came up with one that works out quite well for us, although it's not clear, but white. We use Avery removable return address labels (1/2" x 1-3/4") that has our store name and the frame price under it. It's fairly easy to do this using Microsoft Word, and once you have your template you can crank out a sheet of 80 tags in no time at all. This info is placed on both the left and right margins on the tag. We fold the tag over the left temple- thus the store name and price are on both sides of the tag. Removal of the tag is a snap and it doesn't leave any glue residue. Hope this helps.

I appreciate the feedback. Do you ever have any trouble re using the sheet of tags if you do not print 80 at once.

    my preference

I like to cover up style and color information. I dont like employers investment and my time there to give out style numbers. I spend my time with paying clients not with people wasting time to use store as showroom.

I have on occasion tried to use, say, 1/2 a sheet for some prices and then use the remainder another time. Problem is that the partially used sheets sometimes get hung up in the printer (I use an HP LaserJet). As we carry abut 700+ frames per store, it's rare for us to have "too many" extra tags. As a matter of fact, I keep templates for each price point we offer and also some tags for "sale" or "special offer", etc. We tag our frames before we send them to the store (although the stores of course also have spare tags) and so need to keep plenty of spare tags. Knock on wood, so far this little system has worked very well for us!

If anyone wants guidance on how we make the tags using word, please PM me and I'll send you a template.

If you are looking for a clear solution to go on the lens w/o residue then the static cling labels work pretty well, we used to put one on the lens and then the avery return address label cut into smaller pieces on the temple. It worked pretty well, just keep in mind that marker can fade on the clear temples over time under lights.

Oh and goo gone works really well for getting rid of sticky residue on frames
