    Big Smile Nikon Digital

Do you have any other trade name? Is this lens a single vision or multi-focal?

Wave You might find help here

    http://www.essilor.com.sg/Profession...ikon/Nikon.htm

Nikon has a wide range of progressive lenses on offer, and is launching two more progressive lens designs in our area next month. I am unsure of which design you are talking about, however the Presio-I 13 & 15mm length corridors are both lenses I have used and worn both - and find them great for reading - for use when converting a bifocal wearer to progressives, or for those first time progressive wearers wanting small frames.

    Hope this helps

Nikon > Essilor > Shore Lens

The Nikon products are distributed by Shore Lens, which is owned by Essilor. Good luck getting anyone at Shore Lens to respond to any request you make. I've given up.:(

Things are a little different in Canada TLG. Up here, Nikon and Essilor are still separate, competing companies.

    Information from Essilor

If you want, you can Private Message me with your address and I'll post the information from Essilor here in New Zealand. We've got great information on the product range.

    Didn't catch the locale, eh. ;) :)

But now that I know - My favorite Canadian, Justin Morneau, hit 2 HR's last nite - his first in his native country. I know, I know - we lost. But even defeat can bring small victories and I know he is extremely proud of his heritage and always wants to do his best when in Toronto.

    Mary Sue

I had no idea they were owned by Essilor in other countries. They are advertising the 1.6 Digital here like crazy. In lieu of other information I am just gonna assume that it's a free formed lens made with computers that we charge a whole lot of money for and I will throw in a couple 5 syllable words to dazzle the customers.

    Idea Razzle Dazzle

    http://www.nikonlenswear.ca/en/lenti...rogressive.php

The Canadian Nikon site gives plenty of information. Nikon Digital appears to be a surfacing technique and it is being made available on several lens modalities within their product range.

The benefit of the "I" series Nikon product range is the aspheric surface design - short corridor, and NO MAXIMUM fitting height - so that Presio-i 13 can be fit at 13 mm or 30. The reading just continues in that puppy - so with a bifocal wearer who wants to try progs, or ... with an elderly patient trying progressives from single vision readers - this is a real winner. It is also fantastic for adds under +1.50 with cyls in the lower end of the scale at the right axis. It shows very little wave or distortion in the vieiwing area.

    Cheers

Most digital lenses advertise that their accuracy is within tenths of a diopter instead of quarters or eighths of a diopter. I would imagine the quality in theory would be better but I don't even get too many .12 Rx's anymore. Most OD's and MD's stay in the .25 range when refracting.
