There is no widest intermediates..................they are all too narrow........and when they add increases they only go one way.....................even narrower
Besides having an invisible multifocal with cosmeric advantages............what the patient gets, is narrower field of vision for more money.
The Physio 360 gives the illusion of a wider intermediate area by having less distortion at the sides. Our lab optician swears it's true as does one of our ODs. I have the Ellipse 360 and it is an improvement. However it is true that as the add goes up the patient will initially perceive a narrower channel. Whenever a patient questions why they "can't make it so it doesn't do that", I say "If they could, they would." The technology has come a long way in my thirty years in this business but optics are still optics.
