I would check with Seiko. They have a whole bunch of free credits on their site. Eyecare Bussiness, Vision Care Product News, and 20/20 Magazine also lists some free credits.

    Check this link out.

Can't afford CEUs? Why bother to keep up an ABO if it doesn't even afford enough funds to pay for CEUs? (What are they $200 per year?)

    Why are you underpaid?

Maybe it's because you don't have licensing in your state. Maybe you do have licensing, but since everybody is so eager to get free online CEUs, there is less money going to defend, or establish a license.

Get your free CEUs while you can. In the not too distant future, you won't have to worry about CEUs, because you won't need them. At least not to keep a state license current.

ABO? Why bother? Obviously, you're employer isn't impressed with it, or you'd be making enough to pay for CEUs.

This is not a personal attack on i4i, just a general, "typical for our field" response to the thread, and all opticians out there that don't realize that free CEUs actually undermine your license.

I get all the free ones that I can, but keep in mind they are only free because some company approves that message to reach the masses of opticians so they usually sponsor the credit and pay for it for you, and as such the information is often times skewed (ABO say it isn't but you and I need to know better). I also complete CEs in areas I find interesting, although I have stopped sending them in, beacuse after you have meet your CE requirements, the ABO just sends you the overage back with a letter saying you have meet your application and don't need it, so I save them in a folder zeroxed and tests completed so whena situation such as yours arrives where you need credits you could just thumb through the folder and get rid of the expired CEs and send in the rest with payment and sit back and relax while your credits get mailed to you. Oh and I personally don't like www.quantumoptical.com so consider it doing me a favor if you avoided them. :D

:D When I re-read my post, it really says, "This is an attack on everybody!":D:shiner::D

That was a typical "6AM to 7:30PM Friday workday rant".

Oh well, if it fits, wear it proudly!

If I could give you my extra credits I would gladly do so. Seems I lost track and just kept sending them in. I recieved the last bunch back from ABO with a note that said "you have acheived your limit and we have no room to store any extra credits for you". Ok, wonder if I can resend them for next time?
