Emergency Road Trip!

On Saturday I realized that my coffee was running low and had to make a road trip to buy. Yes, my city does not sell fresh coffee (only instant). On Sunday morning I headed to Changzhou, a city of 2 million people, which is an hour drive from my factory city (Danyang).

I decided to take in some sites and visited the Changzhou Tianning Temple. Rather then tell my poor understanding of the temple I suggest you Google it. I do know it has the tallest structure of any budhist temple is South Asia. Sorry in advnce for the poor quality photos. I used my Sony mobile phone. If you have a chance to see the temple in person it really is amazing. It was re-opened 2 weeks ago after undergoing extensive renovation.

Photo DSC00038 and 39 are of a wishing tower. The people seen were trying to throw a coin into one of 3 levels with openings. They say if you can throw your coin in your wish will come true.

I've been wanting to take a "big" trip for my 50th birthday in a couple of years and have always thought, "Africa" ... but maybe I should think about China!

Only 14-16 hours. Between the movies, food and alcohol it should not be too bad. :D

Glad you enjoyed the photos. If you guys make the trip we can see several cities in the vicinity. Nanjing is only an hour away and very historic. Get your passport's and China Visa's now!

There is a right of passage visitors HAVE to go through and that is drinking Chinese alcohol. I know I am spelling ti wrong: Zhonguo Beijiou. Looking forward to introducing the custom to all of you.

We are planning on attending VEW but have not registered as yet.

Yes I did! I made my first pot this morning and it was g_d awful....but, it is still coffee.

It is almost dinner time; Wednesday night, must be Chinese.
