My wife wants to move to Kentucky in the next year or two. I'm wondering what the job situation is like there. Whats the average pay? etc. I've heard that a licensed optician can make more with a large chain rather than a private practice because opticians can dispense under the OD' license.

I think Owensboro. Not too sure where that may be exactly but the wife has family there.

You're right, mostly chains and independents are the only ones that have to have the license, pay is pretty well though with them. Not many openings right now in this area though, I believe Lenscrafters is looking for a PTer.
Don't think Lenscrafters would hire me back :D

I don't mind that it's a gun, it's the movement that's distracting. If it were a puupy's tail wagging that fast, it would be just as bad (to me).

Yes, it's more the flashing! I find myself ducking every time I read one of Donn's posts. I've never really cared to have a gun pointed at me either.
From what I hear only Texas requires Opticians to pack some heat!:D
