    Personal medical insurance question

Those of you lucky enough to have medical coverage through the doctors does your doctor pay some portion of your premiums and

    1. Who is your carrier?
    2. Doc's--are fee's resonable for employees and the small office?
    3. Do you have any limitations?

We need to get medically coverage for our office and wondered who you guys have and if you like the coverage? Assuming of course eyecare is covered by the Docs.

    Fortunate...

To have been offered fully company(Dr.) paid Blue Cross HMO insurance since coming to work here 21 years ago. About 10 years ago premiums started going through the roof so the Dr. was forced to cap the amount he paid at the present rates(10 years ago). We now are paying out of our own pockets about 50-75% of our monthly premiums. Less money to burn but certainly happy to not be paying for all of it ourselves, Chris.

Currently the boss pays all of it though if needed we would kick in to keep it. It is very good coverage and not that expensive. I wish we had dental. We are in MI and use M-Care which is tied to the University of Michigan health care system. If I stay in network it's really worth it. I know they have just merged with BCBS so changes may be coming. I wouldn't work for an employer who did not offer insurance of some kind.

    As a small guy . . . .

we pay 50% for the employee and they pay 50%. They can pick up the difference for their family, but its hefty. Ours is through UHC and there's a deductable. The Minister of Finance isn't around so I don't know how much it is.

Probably not as much as we spent on her last pair of glasses. Sometimes I think it's be cheaper to be sick!!

We are going to go with 50/50 and the one employee pays for her family. We were given one option with Kaiser but had a 2K deductable really good for major medical which I didn't like I have contacted others like Aetna, BC/BS Anthem I would like an option. How are you liking UHC I have asked for a quote but haven't heard anything yet. What is your deductable?

    I like UHC fine. . . .

We have a $15.00 copay and a 1K deductable. Our choices were Kaiser or UHC and we opted for UHC.

    Good luck to you!!
