I PASSED THE NCLE!!! Whoohoo!! I am so excited just had to come on and share the news!! I got an 81 which I thought was amazing considering I learned basically out of a book! Thanks to all of you for your help with my questions and your support!!

Thanks guys!! Now to take the practical next Thurs. Hope to God I have this lens clock thing down before I get in there. Sorry but that is the strangest instrument in optical I think. Now to study for the COA!! (HEEHEEHEE oh and yes I really am!!!)

Steph: Congrats. As one who used to be a New York State
examiner, the best advise I can give is be your self. tell them your nervous, they will understand. Don't go over board on the lens clock, we were more interested in how each dealt with different
problems in the adjusting phase, but again that was then and this is now. You will do fine. GO GET THEM GIRL.:bbg:

Thanks again for all the kind words really appreciate it. Thanks Diane for all those subliminal messages;)!! Yes Jenny I keep looking at the test results looking and saying are they sure??? ME RIGHT??? Checking to make sure it was my name on there. Pathetic I know but have to let it sink in!!

Totally AWESOME Stephanie!!!

That is one accomplishment to be proud of !!! That test was so hard, when I was done and turned my test in, I asked the lady if that was the NCLC for Optometry or Opticianary?! I was shocked when I found out I passed.
Your definitely on the right track going for your COA right away. Once you get out of the "study" mode, it's hard to get back in it.

Yes, Pedseye, Tn is a licensing state. The practical isn't the hardest, I gather, but it does winnow out a few who aren't serious about opticianry. TN requires an ABO less than 2 years old, and NCLC also less than 2 years old, along with the Practical, (and 3 years of proven apprenticeship or preferrably: graduation from a 2-year optical program) when you apply for your license. Unfortunately, there is only one school in TN for opticianry but with the distance learning program gaining acceptance , more students will be able to achieve class and practical experience before they face those tests.

Yes Jenny is right we are definately licensed. I hear our practical isn't too hard. I am looking forward to having it over. Can't wait til I can say LDO. Yes I am also looking forward to taking COA. I know I just can't stop. I felt the same way about the ABO, the NCLE seemed a little easier to me. I have about a year before I qualify to take the COA anyway. I have all the books and tests. Not ready to start just yet though still burned out from NCLE!! It is all so worth it to me though. I like lab work the best though afterall I was a lab rat for a long time...hard to not do it.

Congratualions Stephanie on passing the NCLE. I too remember what a great feeling when I got my passing results!

I had to do lens clock formulas on my state board as well. I took my own lens clock so that I knew it was calibrated correctly.
