    Question New Kodak Compact PAL

    Hello all

I am currently working on a proposal for our company lens buyer - as a General Manager of one of Europe largest optical retailers I find we are getting ever more demand for compact lenses.

My company produces lenses in store using a Gerber system, currently we only offer our customers a American Optical Compact lens which is OK but not great.

I have recently been told that Kadak have launched a compact PAL - has anyone had any expirience with it??

    Wave Welcome

Hi there Steve and welcome to the board nice to see more brits coming here....
As to your question we have sold a few of the new Kodak compacts, but as they are more expensive customers seem to shy away from them, we sell far more of the Vision Ease "Outlooks" and have had very few returns for non tollerance. Again this seems to be down to price they were around the same price as the AO product but now we are selling them much cheaper they are going well.
I guess as you are a major chain (V.E am i correct) you will be looking for a brand name well known to the public, so as to make advertising and public acceptance that bit easier, hence looking at Kodak.

    AF-Mini

Ditto on AF-Mini. People seem to love them; lately if the frame has a small "B" I tend to lean more towards using Pentax AF-Mini than fitting another PAL low. As John has mentioned about Kodak product, the Mini is a little bit more expensive. I am not sure about the UK, but Pentax is also a recognized brand name in camera products here in the US.
