When I first heard this I thought it excepted the ophthalmic area (since it merged with Seiko), but I see with this it mentions it. So I guess that brings in Seiko.

Big move for Hoya. I think it will be good for the company as I see there are benefits that can be given by both. I thought with the Sola/Zeiss one that they had extremely similar products, but with Super Hi, Trivex, and M-10 there will be a good integration.

The Hoya acquisition of Pentax does not include Seiko-Pentax. The eyewear segment of Pentax became part of Seiko well before the Hoya deal. The retention of Pentax in the Seiko-Pentax name does create confusion.

Hoya operates in business segments beyond eyewear, including optical businesses such as digital camera and mobile phone lenses. So the term optical can also be misleading.

Yes, but if you look at the link you will see that it mentions eye-care

For-Life <<Yes, but if you look at the link you will see that it mentions eye-care>>

That is a complete listing of all Hoya business segments. It is not limited to the businesses in the acquisition.

Call Seiko if you wish to confirm that Seiko-Pentax is not part of Hoya.
