    Ipseo Experience

So this may have been talked about before, but I didnt find anything usefull.

Basically, we have had the Ipseo lens here in our office for over a year and are one of only 6 or so places in the state that offer this lens. We've always been proud of that, but now I'm not so sure...

We seem to get quite a few patients who have problems with this new lens, particularly with a small reading area width. Does the Head/Eye ratio measurement do nothing??

We've always tried to educate people that this is the best lens available now, only customized lens, worth the extra few bucks, you will have the best vision, blah blah blah... but how can I go on saying this when not everyone does have the best vision? Perhaps worse even?

The Varilux Physio lens seems to do just fine in most circumstances and is available in many materials, at a better price!

I'm just wondering if anyone else sells the Ipseo lens and what their experience has been like with it? & what advice might you give?

Had my Vision Print system for 6 months..

sent it back and got my $$$ Back.

This, IMHO, in another of Essilor's "centromatic/photocentron" "lets-throw-too-much-technology-at-the-dispenser" fiascos.

I think it will go the way of LIBERTY....

Have you considered trying the Zeiss Individual or Sola HD? Both are customized lenses, especially for Rx anomalies and fitting measurements (vertex, panto, reading distance, distance/near PD variations). I wear the Zeiss Individual, in both the regular and short corridor versions, and it's a fine lens. Nice large reading area (biggest I've found on a progessive), wide intermediate, great optics.

And you don't need a special machine to fit it :)

(and no, I am not in the pay of Darryl M or Z/S :bbg:)

Have had success with the lens. Patients who could not wear other PALs going into this lens and love them. Comments that their distance seems to have an endless vision stream.

The main thing is you have to make sure the measurements are dead on. You cannot just run the test once, and I suggest doing it in a quiet area.

    Nice...

Wow, no fair, I wish we would have gotten that trip from Essilor! They just came in and explained it to us at our boring office! Hahaha...
Actually I grew up there in Montreal, so it'd just be nice to visit to my hometown!

I wonder ..........why nobody else wonders why one optician is happy with this while another swear that the competitive products works better for him or her.

Does that not make you think that at the end they are all the same anyhow and if when you realizing that..............you can go shopping for price instead of a name like some of the big users do.
