    Marie Raytar

Two years ago we found out Mom had Stage 4 colorectal cancer. She spent the last two years living with the disease with more grace than I could ever muster. It was as if the cancer was just an inconvenience and an annoyance and she didn't miss a beat in life because of it.

Mom was a sweet woman and a wonderful mother to all her kids. I used part of Steve's memorial to Elizabeth because that was how my Mom felt about people. She befriended every person who crossed her path with such warmth and rarely passed judgement on folks who others might not want to talk to. She would gladly go without something or give something away if it meant bringing a smile to someone else.

My sister said it. When our fathers and our inlaws passed our hearts hurt. When our Mom passed our hearts broke. I'm going to miss her so much.

God bless your heart. Cancer is terrible. I support the search for a cure. One out of every three women and one out of every two men will get it.

    Time will heal......

    Dear Pard,
Time will heal a broken heart,..... memories will speed the process. Just remember that you are the result of her work and you turned out to be a wonderful person. What a fine mother she was.You can be proud.

    Jo,

Until I went to college, I thought everyone had "great parents." It was only then that I began to realize what a blessing it is to have a mother and father you can look up to, share dreams with, and depend on no matter what.

It sounds like you were exceptionally blessed to have such a wonderful mother- and I'm sorry to hear of her passing.

    God Bless,
    Pete
