Did you see the reporters stance, he even threw some short feelers out there. No doubt in my mind that if the reporter were to have a real shot at him the optician would lose.

He popped that a$$ once when the camera was turned. That guy is done. He will be lucky to get a job cleaning toilets. Just shows how cheap refunds are.

The next best thing to making a sale is giving a refund & banishing a PIA. However, aparently, this Optician is a hack... or his Optometrist is. Bottom line is though, if you can't satisfy a customer, give him his money back.

I couldn't agree more. When I find myself in a situation (rare) having to offer/give a refund, I dream the following:

(Imagining I'm on the phone). "Hello! Is this ACME Annoying Client Removal Service (AACRS)? I have a person in my store that I need to have leave right away. How much is it going to cost? How much?...$423.00? OK, Can you perform this service in the next five minutes if my check is ready? No problem? Thank you for your prompt service!"

Works for me every time!

Some take the position that all media attention is good. I believe that Mr. Plimmer may have damaged that position.

I must say I found Mr. Plimmer most entertaining. We simply do not have anything quite like that in my neighborhood.

WOW!

I was actually attacked once, years ago. Some patient was overly ****** that his deer-antler or mastadon-bone frame (whatever the hell it was) got a wee bit burned during a hinge solder.

We had the waivers he signed, documented notes that this could happen, didn't charge for the solder, offered him a new complete pair from the store, tossed in a kidney, blah blah blah. He just wanted to throw a hissy fit on a Saturday afternoon when the place was packed. Screaming, yelling, tossing stuff on the floor, etc.

When he tried to grab a file from behind the dispensing counter, I had no choice, for the safety of the patients, to ummmm physically escort him to the door and call the cops. Turns out he was on (or off) his meds.

In a next life I want to be a fireman, it's safer! Anyone else ever been attacked?

I've had 2 people throw the glasses across the counter at me! Technically could have probably been considered assault of some sort, but not worth the hassle as I never really felt threatened. Now if they ever tried to lay their hands on me.... that would be a different story!!

Honestly, if I were that Optician, I wouldn't want to talk to the reporter either, but to lose your temper like that on camera? Smart....

Have you seen the other threads on this joker? He's sold counterfeit frames, and uses an autorefractor as "free eye exams". The guys a total hack!

Not quite. I had a guy come in here once and threatened to take me outside and kick my a**. This was because we had
a: Sold him a replacement frame for his broken one for only $20.00
b: Didn't let him have them at the time because he didn't pay for them.

So he comes in the next day, pays for them, loudly exclaims that he will never come here again and will tell all his friends, etc. You know the drill.
So I told him I bet that he won't tell the truth about why we didn't give him his glasses at first - because he came in and wanted his frames replaced but...brought no money!
He then threatened me in front of three employees and two video security cameras. Told him to get out or I'd call the cops and he didn't want his son (who's a cop) to come arrest him, did he?

Rats, I thought we'd chased this guy away years ago after all his complaints about his lenses in his old Porsche frame. I'd told him that shelving his -3.00s in that huge Porsche frame will be fragile, and of course he broke several pairs. Got rid of his for a few years anyway. Now if he comes back, I'll inform him he is to never return, even if Ihave to get a restraining order against him
