    Speak slowly......

    LOL
Im not at all even CLOSE to understanding all this computer stuff. But I want to go wireless...now in my little town there isnt anything available through the cable company or phone company. Do I just get a router and thats it or am I going to have to subscribe to something?
    Thanks for the help!

You need a router and a wireless ready computer. if not wireless ready you have to buy a wireless card.

You also must have DSL or Cable conection. Or go to starbucks!!!

A wireless router will allow you to share an existing internet connection with multiple computers. You still need some form of subscription internet connection, typically from the cable or phone company, that will connect to your router with a wire.

As optirep said, having a wireless capable laptop will allow you to connect when you are in range of a free WiFi hotspot. Unless you live next door to one, you'll need to keep your existing service provider.

A new one I've been seeing advertized is Hughesnet. It touts providing service to the back of beyond. Need a south facing sky and they were just offering a intro special of $100 off. Sounds like it could be pretty expensive, but if nothing else is available then what can you do. I would google hughesnet for more info.
