Question Widest reading area PAL design?

What PAL would you say has the widest near area?

I've heard that the Varilux Liberty has a wider near area.

My understanding is that the Solamax has an exceptionally wider reading area than other PAL's. The question is how does that affect the distance area.

You may want to look up a report by Dr. Sheedy. It is an eye opener on progressives.

I first saw Dr Sheedy's report 2 years ago. some of his highest rated lenses I have bad experience with non-adapts. Regardless of what is supposed to be the reading width, the free-forms Individual and Definity have reading zones that are huge for print newspaper- size or larger. Real tiny print must still be centered, but every one of my customers have been able to read the normal size print almost all the way across the bottom of the lenses.
