    A little story

We had a little old lady come into our practice many years ago. She had alzheimer's and was not particularly easy to deal with (not her fault). She also never really spent a lot of money, and just got the very basic and inexpensive. Nonetheless, of course we treated her very well and with respect. Every two years she would come in and buy again, but it was just basic.

A few years ago she passed away. Her family then came in and told us how much respect they have for us, because of the way we treated her when she came. I now deal with 10 members of the family who buy the works on everything and many also wear contacts.

Moral of the story is treat the lowest sale with the same respect as the biggest sale. You never know what may come from it.

Nice story! A buddy of mine was the manager of a local grocery store. An elderly woman would take a taxi to the store every week or so. She always needed help with her shopping and called upon my buddy every visit to help her out. He was always very busy but he obliged. He helped her pick out fruit, veggies and whatever. He told me that this had gone on for years. When she passed away, her attorney contacted him, she had left him her house! She had no relatives and appreciated the care that he had given her.
    So you just never know!

I remember reading years ago about an Arab man who lived somewhere in Michigan and was treated so nicely by a car salesman. I believe the name of the company (for real) was Ford Chevrolet. Several years the man was the purchasing agent for a huge company or maybe the Saudi government. They let out a huge purchase contract for Chevy trucks and and he specified in the contract the trucks must come from Ford Chevy of MI and that man be the salesman. Chevy said no way and he said -then we take our business to Ford or Dodge. They relented and the huge deal went through. Goes along with the stories above.
