    Question

A customer asked me if our polarized lenses were linear or secular(not sure of the spelling), even though I've been in Optics for a long time I was baffled?
Can any of the Optic Gurus on the board help me with some insight.
    Thanks, Rich R

Although I don't consider myself a guru of any sort, he was most likely asking if they are linear or circular. Since circular polarization depends on magnetism, it's safe to assume polarized sunglasses are linearly polarized.
Of course, I would've told him they were cubically polarized just to confuse him further. (just kidding)
