Steve...........When in a forum, there used to be an arrow at the top of the posts that allowed us to go directly to the last post we read. Saved a lot of time instead of scrolling. Mine went away today. Any idea where it went?

Steve...........ok, how did the arrow get attached to my post? Sometimes it is on threads and sometimes it is not.

Jackie Just how many replies where there in the thread as it looks like arrow only appears after 2 replies
It's complicated and all a matter of timing. The arrow appears when the software detects there are new messages since your last visit. It writes a cookie with the date and time when you visit the board . This resets 15 minutes after your last activity on the board (actually clicking, not just reading.) So even if you haven't read a particular thread or forum, the new message icons will go away.
This has happened to me several times when I started reading the board and then got distracted for a while.
