Lens tech gurus,
Can anyone name an aspheric/atoric/freeform product (nikon/hoya/sola/etc) that truely has better (on/off axis) optical performance than a best-form spheric of the same correction?
Thanks,

*Dave at OptiVision has a web based tracer integration package that's awesome.
Thanks, that helps much..
So, I imagine the tradeoff for myopes w/ astigmatism going to aspheric is a nearly negligible degridation in optical quality, for a slightly noticable improvement in cosmetic 'minification' and 'face line'?
Since we're in the "not for faint of heart group" I'll try to be precise and define nearly negligible degridation as <.25D RMS+mean OAE @ 30deg

I have a pretty detailed article on Ophthalmic Lens Design available online.
