Do you mean Drivewear? I've heard rumors of First Quarter. I'm anxiously awaiting it. Have a few patients on a waiting list for when it arrives.

    drivewear

I'm currently personally using it. Although I like it I'm not sure how easy it will be to explain to patients. For professionals who understand all the pros and cons of photochromics and polarization, it's easy to see how this lens makes the most of both. In the car it's dark enough to provide comfortable vision, and it gets as dark as polarized glasses outdoors. I have even been able to get by driving in the late evening and in very dim lighting with these. Therefore, for driving during the day it's better than transitions alone but not quite as good as straight polarized. For evening and overcast days it's slightly worse than a straight transition but definitely better than a straight polarized. I think that the best way to position this product is to sell them as an alternative to straight polarized lenses and to explain the value added benefits of the transitions component.

    ilanh,
Good point. I explain it to patients as being a "smart" sunlens. Then I explain how it can adapt to lighting, but has limitations.
I think the origional question, though, was when these lenses will be available in progressive lens designs.

    Question Isn't there a Younger guy around here . . . ?

I bet they know the answer. Does anybody remember their screen name?? I'd like to stick it in my new Panoptixs frame if its going to come out soon. With all the snow we've had I can wait for awhile, but the sun starts shining then I'm riding. I've got a coupon for a NuPolar Image I'll burn.

I hope you're all having fun and making money!!

    Wave

We have it available at our lab....has been out a few weeks. Has anyone had experience with the Drivewear delaminating???? We have had a few. Blocking the blank is a bit difficult due to the small polariztion marks. We contacted Younger to see if they could mark them similar to a KBco...but they basically said "no way",

    Any thoughts??

    Delaminating?
I called my lab b/c a patient wanted to put the DW in a string mount frame, and they said it wasn't a laminate filter. Was I told wrong?

According to the tech brief, it is not recommended to be glazed into a groove mount. We tried it on an employee and the wafer did seperate. We process several wrap frames on 8 base. A few that we did in conventional bevel seperated ever so slightly.

    From the Drivewear website:

    • The polarized film is positioned about 0.7 mm from the front surface. Special care should be taken not to locate the groove in this area; place the groove toward the back surface of the lens.
