    Your opinion

There are 3 PALs in our market. They are Varilux Comfort, Hoya Summit Pro(ECP) and TOG Discovery.

What is most valuable product compare with their prices?

    I didn't mention their prices.

in south korea, Their prices are Comfort $268, Summit Pro $215 and $190 repectively.

Conditions are refractive index 1.5, none tinted with multi coating.

I'm not familiar with the Discovery lens, but we do quite well with the Hoya Summit ECP. It has a very wide distance viewing area with minimal distortion in the periphery. Our doctor wears them. I'm waiting for his new id lenses to come in so we can compare them.

Comfort is the greatest PALs in its price and can beat even Panamic or Ipseo or Physio or even Physio 360 in many case ( not every Rx ).

Comfort have only 12 variable inset by ADD vs Hoyalux Summit ECP 120 variable inset by ADD vs TOG Discovery 55 variable inset by ADD.

But Comfort have very poor material for rimless frame and Comfort is good only for Comfort Orma only , no other.

The Comfort Ormil 1.6 have very poor ABBE at 36 and not good for rimless frame.

TOG Discovery 1.6/42 MR-20 ABBE 42 is the best PALs in material and very good for rimless frame and the quality of Super HMC is double better than Comfort. ( Thank for 1.6/42 MR-20 material that Outstanding thermal resistance 50% over all material of Essilor and Hoya )

If you think only the valuable or money / performance , you have to going for Summit ECP or TOG Discovery.

Or try to waiting for new TOG Discovery WFT Wave Front Technology that will leave Varilux Comfort and Panamic in the past.

TOG Discovery WFT is one of the most valuable Hi-Performance PALs.

    More info :
    Varilux Comfort : http://www.apcthai.com/forum/forum_p...sp?TID=74&PN=2
    or download from apcthai.com server http://www.apcthai.com/webboard/uploads/Varilux_Comfort_conc ept.pdf

Summit ECP is semi-hard design and the distortion in the periphery not less like Varilux Comfort or TOG Discovery.

The weak point of Summit ECP is the narrow intermediate zone , dynamic vision and the comfort of vision.

Seiko P1 Series free form PALs can beat premium free form PALs like Hoyalux iD , Ipseo or even Physio 360 , but can not compare with Individual Free Form PALs like Impression ILT or Gradal Individual or iZon PALs.

Seiko P1 Series can compare with Rodenstock Multigressiv ILT.

Let we celebrate 100 years anivesary of PALs and cheer to Owen Aves " The father of PALs " , because he is the man who dare to cross the line of Bi-focal in Benjamin Franklin's Empire.

    Don't forget , Benjamin Franklin is the father of Bi-focal and I don't like him , because I don't like Bi-focal.
