Three weeks before Christmas- i took some latest shots.:)
Yamin Moshe- is the first Jewish quater outside the Old City- name after Moses Montifiore, love them rooftops, all houses were constructed in a style of a cottege,
on the upper right of that shot is the famous King David Hotel-
remember Paul Newman in "Exodus"?
Thats where the Brittish military headquarters were located during the Mandate and in 1947 the Jewish underground had blown up the left side of King David.
:hammer:On the same shot - if one looks closer-thats the way it came out- attached to the hotel building is the YMCA tower with a dommed top,and its an apartment building on the left- i wonder how much would a penthouse flat run- i took this photo from the Old City walls.
Next shot is from the Mount of Olives,on the bottom is an old Jewish cemetery and sealed Golden Gate- the only gate of the Old City thats closed- waiting for Massiah...
in the third photo one can really see the Christian presents here.
The next one was taken from the roof of a Franciscan Hostel near Jaffa Gate- the David's Tower on the centeral left is a part of the Old City wall,
people can walk aroumd the city on the wall,
to the left is that Yamin Moshe neighbourhood and in the center -that apartment building with my dream flat.
And,lastly- the Dome of the Rock, just a couple of points- backround is Mount of Olives, poor palestinian minority- check out them satelite dishes on the roofs,on the hill to the left is the Mormon University' modern campus and the golden cone of the Russian orthodox church near that golden dome.
And finally, for those who are interested- i have compiled a set of vintage photos of Jerusalem- to compare "than and now".
