    Anyone familiar with the Tonomat?

My employer is a die hard Tonomat user. He is doing everything in his power to find more supplies, in other words, " Ray, do whatever you can to find me more supplies."

Ocular used to produce supplies for the tonomat, but they stopped some time last year. We are getting close to the end of our stockpiled supplies and he is facing the alternative of using another form of tonometery, but really wants to find some way to stick with the tonomat. He is also looking at the possibility of finding an alternative to the Aplacote as he has a much larger supply of the endcaps.

Yes, I realize the tonomat is an antique and believe me when I say I'm doing my best to convince him to go with a more current method such as a tono-pen.

    Thanks for any help.

I can't imagine anyone in progressive California still using a tonomat!! Before diagnostic drops were approved it was not a bad instrument but the user had to be very proficient. It uses the same applanation principle as the Goldmann tonometer. Can't help you with supplies though. Good luck.

    Try Bernell....

When we were still using the McKay-Marg, they had supplies for it..

We finally updated our tonometer about a month ago :)

Did you have any success finding Aplacote or a substitute? I have a family member who would like to use my tonomat to self moniter while out of the contry for several weeks.

I'm going to show my age here. What the heck is a Tonomat?

We've got a Tonopen, an NCT and a Goldmann. I've seen a Schiotz, have at least heard of a McKay-Marg, but I'm out to lunch on what a Tonomat is.
