    Oh good grief!

Why do I see Dick and Jane suiting up in bubble-wrap for recess...

did you vote the poll? 97.2% say let kids be kids, only 2.8% agreed it was a good idea to ban chase games.

What gets me is that some schools have actually followed through and banned these games.

Back in the mid-'50's, my brother was diagnosed with Leg Perthes (sp?) disease which caused the hip joint in one leg to soften and partially disintegrate. He was in a wheelchair for a year and then on crutches with a leather leg harness. We all still played kickball in the front yard and no one thought anything of it. In fact, because he could brace himself on the crutches and kick with his good leg, he was our designated kicker. He's alive, well and walking on both legs.

But you're parents weren't going to sue the school for his condition. Sadly the suits have taken over.

There is a place for suits, especially when corporations purposefully harm the citizens or its customers, but this is a bit ridiculous.

Too many folks wanting someone else to take the blame for everything. Kids need to run and play to grow up. I liked growing up without bubble wrap. Those scrapes taught us a lot.

    Just my thoughts.

Us right-wingers been fussin about this for years. You should listen to
Mr. Limbaugh instead of Ms. Clinton he keeps one up on this type of stuff.
Not only are they eliminating dodge ball and the like, they are changing the scoring system on things retained to show no winners or losers so that the "prestige" of the losers won't be affected.

    Chip:angry:

Vote Conservative in the future and eliminate this sort of non-sense.

A note on the other side of the fence, some schools in Ft. Worth are teaching students defence like: How to throw books at an attacker (think of this, students who are so stupid, liberally indoctrinated and inbred that they have to be taught to use such simple forms of defense.

This isn't a liberal/conservative thing. This is a responsibility thing. With the majority of families having to have two working parents, children are not being raised with the same kind of common sense we were raised. Also, this stress of the parents not having the time to parent gives them a greater sense of insecurity and thus an over-reaction to protect their kids when out of their own reach.

This, at the root, an economic issue, not a political persuasion issue.

    Harry:

This is further advise from another right wing Republican:
Dr. Laura Schlesenger (sorry if I miss-spelled last name).
She had a number of books out on this and related subjects.
