Current and Former "Commercial" Optometrists

If any of you have worked or work with commercial Optometry (you know what I mean,)you should be concerned with those offices having your insurance provider numbers and using them after you leave or when another doctor fills in for you. This kind of fraud is committed frequently, especially after a doctor leaves and a new doctor is waiting to be credentialed. Just think, you get a 1099 from the insurance company when someone else does the exam and gets paid for it. It has happened to me from a big vision center, even after the DM and Regional Manager assured me that I was taken out of the BOSS system.

Especially look out for spectera and always vision.

This is insurance fraud at the minimum. If this has happened to you or someone you know, let me know. There is already a class action suit in the works and the more counts of fraud we get, the more effective we can be in correcting this injustice against us.

If you are getting mailed the 1099 for the income, why aren't you also getting mailed the check for the exam?
