    Wave Varilux panamic airwear lens

Has anyone put this style in a 56mm x 40 mm rimless lens?, and how are the safety results?

My customer would like to use it for construction work. He is a carpenter and is getting tired of two pairs of safety 3x bifocals. He would like to go to a safety progressive lens with flip up polarized sunglasses.

    Thanks in advance

    Jack

Yeah, sure you can do it. Not a problem. If you want to be cautious, increase the center thickness.

I assume this is a safety frame we are discussing?

Keep in mind some companies will limit the options of their employees. Some won't allow a progressive, others will only allow certain brands. As long as you're meeting those requirements you should be fine.

I don't think that any rimless glasses would qualify as safety glasses, I could be wrong but it would not make any sense using the the most delicate frames on a construction job.

I agree, even a semi rimless would not withstand an impact, let alone a full metal frame. For it to be safety glasses you need a special frame designed and certified.

You know these Hollywood want a bee are just so sure they look a lot better with less frame. I was taken back when he first asked if there are safety contacts on the market. I’ll put it in the frame he wants and you can be sure that he, will sign his life away before I do.

They're called "Front Office" and pretty nice looking as well. As the name implies these frames are for office personal and are not to be used where ANSI frames are required.
