Happy Birthday Darris...Today is.......

Darris Chambliss's birthday and I wanted to wish him well. For you newer members, Darris is an Optiboarder and former moderator of this forum. He was also known as Dr Death....and like Turk Sanderson of the old Boston Bruins, he was known as the enforcer. While rarely showing it, he has a heart of gold and is a gentle man. I have read somewhere that he is no longer in the Optical industry but is studying hard to become an allied health care professional. I suspect, if he's near a computer today, and can tear away from the books, he'll stop by and say Hello from Texas.

Hello to all,

Pete did inform me of this thread and I decided to come by and thank everyone for the birthday wishes. It means a lot to me. Pete, "the gang" and I had a blast this past weekend and all went well. I hope everyone is having a great day and a wonderful time in their lives.

To those that miss me, I miss you too. But remember that if people saw me as a "meanie" in the past can you imagine how I would be perceived now were I to respond to threads today? I'm a little too blunt for the faint of heart and I don't think many here could deal with my views, some couldn't in the past and I believe there would be even fewer that could today, but it is wonderful to know I'm thought of from time to time.

I knew you would not miss an opportunity to dismiss my statements as ranting of a mad man, but thank you for the birthday wish "nonetheless." It means as much to me as much as you meant it :D

In answer to your latter question, I am out of the optical business but do keep as up to date as I can. Perhaps that could be part of the reason for my self exile from the board. I don't have as much time to spend with it and when I do have time I like being on Keith's board. Thank you however for your curiosity and concern and as I said previously I do not think I would be well received so I respectfully decline to participate in this forum.
