Help! Find Maryam Zaim PG1 Frames!

(Edit: Sept. 16th, I found the frame brand/model, now I just need to find them!)

    Hello,

I stumbled across this forum hoping that somebody out there might be able to identify these frames. They used to belong to my girlfriend Judy, but part of the frame that holds the fishing line lens-holder broke about a year ago. She's replaced them with similar frames, but she really, really loved and misses terribly her old ones. Unfortunately she tossed them out after she replaced them, so these pics are the only surviving record.

It's Jude's 30th coming up in a couple months and I'd love to be able to get her these glasses that she had through much of her 20s.

I sure hope you fine folks might be able to help, or at least point me at somebody who may!

    Thanks so much!

    Craig

I suggest contacting the optician who origianally fit her and asking if the frames can still be ordered.

    Redhot Jumper Easy solution.......................

Find a full frame in an optical store.................a frame with the same shape and color you want. This should be very easy,

Then have the optician cut off the lower part, polish the end bit, drill the holes for the nylon thread and mount the lenses. This is actually very easy to do,

    Backtrack...

I agree with GOS Queen- contact the last optician who worked on the glasses. Even if she didn't buy the frame at that store, they probably wrote down the frame manufacturer and model #. That will give you more to work with.

Only problem is if the frame breaks your stuck. No Vender is going to take that mess back!!!!!!!!

    Hi again all!

Nuts, I must not have had my reply-notification turned on, didn't see these helpful posts until tonight.

Thank you for the replies. I'll see if I can talk to the store that she bought the new frames from, but I don't think they did any work on the old glasses. I'm not sure where she got her old ones, and don't really want to ask for fear of giving up the surprise.

I'm not really looking for glasses that are similar. I'd much prefer the exact, or as close as possible. I know this is a very tall order and a long shot at success, but I've got to try for my Jude. :)

Anyway, is there anybody out there that has seen these or might know of somebody who's got a lot of similar styles? Even a clue as to which brand they might be would be super.

    Thanks again for the help!

    Craig

Please tell your girlfriend that when a string breaks, she need only take it to any optician and have it replaced. Don't throw away glasses without checking on the chance of a repair!

Neither of us are quite that wasteful. :)

As mentioned, the part of the frame that the string attached to broke off (about a 5mm length of the tip of the frame. She brought it and they told her that it was unlikely that glue would hold for very long.
