Hello, wasn't sure what category to put this in.....? Looking for either dispensing or lab optician schools/colleges. Does anyone know of a good website to find these, I keep finding either college sites with no opticianry, or opticianry with no breakdown of where the schools are.....LOL

Hillsborough Community College has a two year A.S. Degree program. It is an online format but you are required to attend some testing on campus.

The school is in Tampa, Fl and they usually have many out of state students so they are prepared to work with you.

The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology has a 2 year distance education program for opticianry, followed by a 2 year program in contact lenses. They also have additional programs in refracting. They are recognized by ABO, but require you be employed full time in the opticial field in order to fullfill the extensive practical requirements.
