Younger Optics introduces high index 1.67 in transitions
lenses, expanding younger’s premium product line

(TORRANCE, CA — July 2006) – California-based lens innovator Younger Optics is expanding its line of premium lens offerings with new High Index 1.67 in Transitions®. Manufactured with the high performance material MR-10 resin, refractive index 1.67 is the material of choice for patients with high prescriptions if lens thickness consideration is essential (especially in drilled rimless eyewear). It is available in both Single Vision spherical lenses and Younger’s Award Winning IMAGE® progressive (OLA, “Best in Lens Design”, 2002).

Transitions Lenses are an excellent choice for a primary pair of prescription eyewear. Virtually clear indoors, automatically darkening outdoors, they provide 100% UV protection for optimum versatility. The new High index 1.67 features Transitions V technology with ESP™ (Enhanced Scientific Performance), with faster activation and significantly faster fade back than ever before.

IMAGE provides one of the widest distortion free distance zones in the industry, which is an essential attribute for a quality progressive design. “The IMAGE design has consistently rated very high in several independent studies, including a recent one in The Aviation Consumer [February 2006],” said David Rips, president and CEO of Younger Optics, “Expanding the line to include 1.67 Transitions Lenses is an exciting step toward continuing to have IMAGE available in the widest variety of materials and treatments.” IMAGE High Index 1.67 is also available in clear.

High index 1.67 Transitions Lenses in Single Vision and IMAGE are available now through your wholesale Laboratory of choice.
