    Lens Identification

    Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me identify the markings on my new progressive lenses.

on the Left lens the marking is SP on the Right Lens the marking is P4.

I'm hoping that these lenses are the Hoya's I ordered.

    Thanks in advance!

    Markings

    Roland,
The markings should be referred to in relationship to the nasal or temporal side of the lens. Ex. A right lens has the Add power traditionally on the temporal side.
As far as the SP Hoya does have some SP nomenclature but usually it follows with an x,1,3,4,or 5. on the nasal side of the lens. The only SP by itself that I know of is the Ce-Tru Short Corridor in 1.56 index.
I am not sure or the P4 symbol, but this is not saying that a new Hoya lens with new markings is out there. However to my knowledge I am not sure what style you have. The only promising thing that they are Hoyas is the SP and the 4 is not easily visible to you. Try to see if there is a full SP4 on the nasal side of both lens if so you have the 1.70 Hi-Index Summit ecp. If you have AR they are sometimes harder to read.

    Thanks for the reply.

Both those markings are on the nasal side of the lens. I would figure that the markings would match, and that has me a bit concerned.

    Your fine

I think that the 4 got cut off on one side and the S got cut of in the other. Is this a small frame? Are your eyes centered narrow? If you can read and you answer yes to 1 or both of the questions enjoy your new lenses.

Add the markings together (accounting for edging) and you get the Hoya Summit ECP 1.70 Index
