Is there any way to get national average retail pricing for lenses and options? We are trying to show our patients the difference in pricing between our office and a chain. Thank you in advance.

The best way to obtain that information is to price shop other establishments close to you. That will be the best comparison for you.You don't need to show comparisons to your patients. That's not a good idea. IMO
You may have to call local competitors and chains and price out the options yourself. There is no place to look up prices, and even the national chains vary their prices by region, so any numbers someone gives you will be inaccurate.

I usually archive newspaper adertisements and highlight their most popular terms such as:
*not valid with insurance programs
*lens options available for an extra charge
*minnimum purchase required
etc. etc.
As other posters indicated, the most reliable info comes from shopping your competition. There are several ways to effectively do this without making your motive evident....perhaps a good topic for a new post. :o
If you'd like to have some real fun with this...get some prices from opticals outside of your area.
