    Optometrist

Hi I am opening up a practice in Philadelphia, Would really appreciate it if someone could give me some ideas as to what the starting salary for an optometrist is for 2 days a week.
Also is it a good idea to hire someone on salary or have someone running their own practice? In either case, who supplies the equipment.
I do currently have a place in west virginia without an OD and am thinking of opening the philadelphia location in the next 2 months with a doctor.
Will appreciate any help that I can get.

In california, it's 300/day, but ca. is probably highest around.

In ca, you can't hire an o.d. unless you are an o.d. If you can in pa, you might be better off letting him/her run their own show and feed you the optical. Otherwise, there's nothing to hold them there permanently.

We can't hire OD's here, but I guarantee them $500 per day, or I make up the difference. I didn't have to pay once last year.
