Question Have you noticed. . .

these mysterious foreign Opticians that seem to be showing up?? What ever happened to the little stone age guy that got all of us old guys excited about seeing pictures of antiquated equipment?? (We know we've been in the industry too long when those kinds of pictures excite us!)

Now we have this person from Turkey (?) wanting to know something about web cams and Smart Mirrors. Am I the only one thinking there's some sort of closet sex thing going on here?? If so, that's OK, being old I don't have to apologize for my cynicism anymore. ;)

It just seem a little weird to me! I hope you're all having fun and making money!!

I think that as technology and internet access spreads there will be a growing number of people from developing countries wanting to understand some of the technology thats out there. I just saw the pictures that touseefliaqat posted and man I tell you I would love to spend a week learning how to make lenses like that!

You rock, Touseef, ya little nut. I love this stuff. When I was working at a wholesale lab in the late 80's we still had one of those hanging around. Every once in a while the guy we worked for would do a lens on it, just to show us how easy we had it these days. If you can figure out a way to use this machine for sex, Framebender, I expect an immediate post with possibly video. And no green night-vision shots either!

    Touseefliaqat,

There is nothing wrong with asking questions and it is ecouraged in the optiboard community. It just might take you alittle time to understand some of the humor.
I think we all enjoyed your post and especially liked to see how you produce lenses in your country. We are seperated by country borders but we are all part of the same craft and field.

At least they still know what they are doing and why they are doing it, compared to modern opticianry that just knows which button to press.
