    day two of optiboard

I have read many posts over the last two days. There seems to be about 3 or 4 people who use this site to help. The rest just fight with each other about nothing. "Your Wrong no your wrong"

    I'm tired already!

SOME of you should really think if you are helping the business or making it look bad!

Some of us are just as useless because all we do is judge other people but have nothing of value to add to a discussion.

A forum is a public meeting place for open discussions, voicing ideas, opinions.....Optiboard Discussion Forums....is a place pertinent to optical related topics....open to all who visit...reading or contributing....

I happen to agree with Optione. I have seen a trend in sarcastic replies to obviously honest questions. The experienced and knowledgeable should be willing to share . With that being said, anyone should be allowed to comment, within Optiboard guidelines, sarcastic or not. But we de-value the integrity of our profession when we comment this way. Some individuals are truly seeking answers, and it should be our responsibility to be as sincere.
We can't censor people's answers because of their comments. Just consider the source and keep asking if you need answers.

Those of us who have been here a while......

Those of us who have been here a while would hope that newer members would not characterise over 10 years of contributions in such a manner. I would ask them to spend a little more than 2 days before rushing to judgement. If they find nothing of redeeming value after a reasonable time I would suggest that perhaps they failed to enter the Ophthalmic Optics forum. In any event, 2 days is not long enough to absorb what is here. Optiboard is always interested in what members, new and old alike, would do to improve the site, so you may feel free to make suggestions on how to improve it.

There are many, many talented and knowledgeable posters on OptiBoard, and there is a great deal of information available here. You really shouldn't write the entire forum off just because some posters may have "personality conflicts" every now and then. For that matter, OptiBoard is generally more well behaved than any other discussion forum (optical or otherwise) I've run across on the Internet.

    1. The poster read for 2 days and didn't like it. The internet is like telelvision, if you don't like it, then change the channel.

    2. Many people must enjoy the forum the way it is or it wouldn't be so popular.

    3. You're tired ? Don't let us tire you out!

    4. Our business looking bad ? I come here to exchange ideas, learn some things, and see what other people's (industry people) thoughts are. I'm not here to promote my business, or even my profession. If it looks good or bad to someone, so be it. If the banter gets a little rough, it just adds to the flavor of the topic.

    5. If I happen to be a third party to a conversation that is taking place, and I don't like what is being said, I can join in the conversation, or I can move on. I don't stand there and say. "I don't like the way you talk to each other, so I'm going to leave." (unless of course I plan on leaving).

    6. Is this the part where we're supposed to beg the poster (with the 2 day investment) to stay ?

It is easy to attack other for their failings without contributing anything positive yourself.

    Oldest trick on the Internet.

I look forward to you showing us dummies how it should be done.

All of us that post here are doing it because because they like it, want to give others some advice, teach em something, ...............or then need some advice themselves onany professional subject.

We all spens and give some of our time and this forum is now the most popular of its kind .........................thanks to the posters.

Some days things are ..................slow.sometimes a bit boring and other days interesting subjects come up and we cvan even see some tempers flaring.

This all makes our lives a bit more interesting and informative................and if the complaning poster does not see and understand that, he has two choices, .....................stay a bit longer with a positive attitude or just move on.

Big Smile Comment from the past.......................

Let us not look east and west for materials of conversation, but rest in presence and unity. A just feeling will fast enough supply fuel for discourse, if speaking be more grateful than silence. When people come to see us, we foolishly prattle, lest we be inhospitable. But things said for conversation are chalk eggs. Don't say things. What you are stands over you the while, and thunders so that I cannot hear what you say to the contrary. A lady of my acquaintance said, " I don't care so much for what they say as I do for what makes them say it."
