Question Do customers bring in their own frames to be fitted with a progressive lens?

    Hello~

I was fortunate to come upon this list. Maybe you can help me. Do you opticians ever have customers bring in their own frames to be fitted for a lens? I happen to have a brand new pair of eyeglass frames that I want to have progressive lenses put into. They are narrower than my current glasses. But I spoke to my optician about what size he can fit a progressive lens into. He took some eye measurements. This frame looks to be just fine for what he was suggesting.

I had intended to purchase my frame through his shop if I found some I liked. However a good friend of mine who has similar tastes as I do bought a couple pairs of frames through an optics company at a discounted price. She works in the business. It turns out she prefers the other pair and offered to sell these to me for her price. She thought they would be perfect for my face. I really love them! They look splendid on me. My optician doesn't even carry this brand anyway.

So have you had people bring in a frame to be fitted? Thank you kindly.

Yes, but if the frame breaks during warranty period, you have to go back to where you got it.

Thank you for your response. Yes it is warranted by the manufacturer. It's brand new in the box as well. Very well made and by a reputable company. I know that my optician isn't respsonsible should it break.

I'll take them in to be measured for lenses then.

    Cheers.
