Wave Code Error for Santinelli Edger 7070 3d

Can anyone tell me what the code error 008 is for the santanelli edger.
We just recently purchased one without instructions. I have 2 Horizon II that are perfect and I have no problems with these.

    Does anyone have a copy?

Any help would be so appreciated.

    thanks

The Grinding pressure is not initialized, Check the origin sensor and cables which concern the grinding pressure motor.

You can try to change your pressure from low to high or visa versa, that might be a quick fix.

It is important that when you buy a used edger that you buy from a reputable company who can support what they sell. It might cost a little more but you will save thousands in the long run.

    That is an easy one.

Code 800 means it is about to have a fatal error and that tech support is going to blow you off for a few days. After you call them a few dozen times they will eventually give you an answer. Good Luck.

    Yes I have.

I have done a number of maintenace related things to the edger (this is the Accura CL that I have) and I have not had any problems at all. I think it is rather easy to get to things, flip the lid up and you can get to most of the things you need, and one side panel lets the whole pc board pivot down flat, If there was anything really major I just call John at JA Optronics and he will come fix it.

Thats kind of what I meant. When you have major problems "and you will", Its not that easy or inexpensive to fix. John obviously knows the machine well. I would much rather rebuild a Santinelli or Optronics edger than a Briot.

    repairs,

Well we have a service contract and it is very reasonable and he comes down a few times a year and just makes sure everything is like it should be. He also provides updates to software and eproms and such. Even if we had to pay him out side of a service contract it is cheaper to pay him than for me to spend a day or two trying to do it myself. In most cases he can be in the office same day or next day. But service is key to any system you put in. I would not be opposed to buying a new Kappa or what ever else IF I knew I had really good in office support (read that fast to get there *** in my office) and they did not charge an arm and a leg to do it.

    error code

I think it means that the tracer is hitting the block or the blocking tape. On frames with a small B measurement you have to trim the blocking tape.

Who is they? That error is definately coming from the grinding pressure switch. If adjusting the pressure does not work you can remove the cover and check the connection from the pressure switch to the small board next to the head motor. It may be a loose connection. If not, there is a broken connection in the switch, you could resolder the wires or get a new switch.

    Keep us updated!!!

    Wave Thanks a Million

I had purchased the machine on ebay so unfortunately it did not have the instructions that I needed. Like I said I am old lab rat I am used to the old Weco 440's and Gerber Corburn Ton generators. This one is new to me even though its used. I love my old workhorse the horizon II.

Opticlabrat You are amazing I will do exactly what you said and I will keep you posted. Let me give credit where credit is due.

    You are the greatest......
    thanks
    again
