    IS IT TRUE THAT CONTACT LENSES HAS A :finger: LONGTERM HARMFUL EFFECT ON THE EYES

    It can or it cannot. I have patient's who have been wearing contact lenses for fifty years. I have seen negative results on the eye in short periods of time.

    Contact lens fitting should done by an expert. Contact lenses should be supervised (bi-annual check-ups) and seen if and when there is a problem.

    You can also have damage from eyeglasses, refractive surgery, and a lot of things. Nothing is safe but reasonable safety can be achived with proper care and supervision.
