    Big Smile Progressive lens fitting

I want people to tell me the way the fit progressives. I know this is elementary stuff, but I would like a step by step of the process you do personally. Be honest. And if you do dot pupils, tell me where you have the patient look. Be honest.:finger:

Cover patient's eye not being dotted, cover your own eye on that side of patient. Have patient look at your open eye (he looks with his right at your open left). Dot. Reverse process for fellow eye. Dot. Draw a line across dots, have patient stand an look at eye level distance object while in a relaxed stance (not at attention or proped up). See if line is bi-secting patient's pupil

Do not use dots as a P.D. do this with ruler or PRD.

There are no shortcuts on multifocal measurements. Do not forget to:

Always adjust the frame before taking measurements.

Once the Monocular P.D. and height has been determine, i transfer those measurements (draw and (+)) to the demolenses of the choosen frame and make sure it is on le center of the patients pupil. Always re-ckeck. If the P.D. or heigth is incorrect the job is already dead.

Once you receive the job from the lab, take the time to examine it and make sure it is right. Most of the time we are more aware of diopter than of mm.
For me, 1mm of deviation on PD is as relevant as a incorrect prescription.
