Question Inquiry about frame material; ie, different metals

I'm still in the market for the ideal frame for my new progressives. I refuse to settle for one because of price or just because. My current frame of 7 years is Titanium and I believe it's served me well. I would like to stick with this material if possible. I cannot afford a new pair of glasses every couple of years. So I need a frame that will be durable as well as fashionable and with a good fit. I refuse to put expensive lenses into a cheap frame.

So, would you stick with titanium or perhaps a flexing-titanium like Flexon? Would this metal be the best bet for me over stainless steel for instance? I do like some of the frames I've seen in stainless, but I want to like them 3 years down the line, too! Also, an eyeglass "expert" told me to stay away from less-expensive metals like "monel" made in China. She said they just don't hold up like the stainless and titanium. They can also peel (which I've noticed in my present 7 year old sunglasses on the temples.) She said that frames that don't actually say stainless steel or titanium or most likely this "monel" material. Is this true? I happen to see more of these type than not. Also, is price usually a good indication that a certain frame might be one of those "you get what you pay for" situations? I know that some designer brands jack up their prices, but I'm not necessarily talking about those high end frames.
Also, while I'm not "hard" on my glasses, I wear them FULL time and remove them only to put my sunglasses on, (which could be several times a day, depending on the weather, driving, etc.) So, these frames need to be durable.

This woman told me check out a line called Safilo Team or Elasta, too.

these are all pretty much facts. Spectacles are something that over time wears out. 7 years is a rather long expectation, for nearly any product that we wear (besides gold or platignum jewelrey), especially as the script in them is valid for just 2 years maximum

Any above-average or better quality frame could last you 7 or more years if you were very, very careful with it. But titanium is going to give you the best shot at that sort of longevity.

This is what I wanted to hear. Next time I hope to purchase new glasses before 7 years, though. Now that I have found an optometrist I like and trust, it should be easier to make appointments more frequently. But, I might not have to get new specs for 5 years. I want to be assured the ones I buy now will hold up to time and wear. After all, this titanium pair obviously lasted me 7 years.
