    to sunny California

Word on the street is that the Jags will be in Los Angeles as soon as a stadium is ready. Jacksonville economy cannot support a team year in and out. The last two years they took a huge financial hits with non renewals of the PSLs sold that originally enticed a franchise reward from the NFL.

We were over in Orlando in mid October. The O town media was up in arms over the NFL declaring it a "Jacksonville secondary market". Their TV and radio networks were not allowed to carry the Buc's-Dolphins game. The city was in the original Dolphins market since 1965 and recently adopted the Bucs due to their training at Disney in the Gruden era. You can imagine the mess, the local longtime loyal Bucs and Dolphins fans had to search out sports bars or head south on 95 or west on 4 far enough out to pick up the game.
The NFL makes a ton of money despite the stupid things they do in every region. If they had common sense (or decency in some decisions) they would be dangerous.

The NFL's reasoning of positioning Orlando in Jags sphere of influence is that it is a last chance gasp of pulling O town fans into ticket buying fans. Even though Tampa is closer, Tampa games are sold out, the Jags need patronage.

That is interesting as the NBA has made the Tampa-Orlando market one and the same, with the Majic playing games here.

The sports facilities in Jacksonville are as nice as any for a smaller market. You could never put an NHL team in the Veterans Aud.

Jacksonville may be the largest city in Florida in terms of size, but by population, I would have been hard pressed to locate an NFL franchise there. Orlando would have made more sense.

As a former citizen of Jacksonville, let me tell you how we got our tea. We are a football city like no other. Can anyone tell me another town that hosts a college football game year and year and sells out? The people there are stable and aren't alot of tourist there. Is Orlando such a better place that anyone I know will visit but not live there. Jacksonville is also one the cities that is growing by leaps and bounds. So many good things are happening there. Example the Navy is reopening one of the bases there, so another population boom.

    So I say go Jags:D Go Jacksonville:D

I truly doubt the jags will leave over the dead bodies of those who put them there.

The only body's we're going to see.....

The only Jaguar body's we're going to see this weekend are the ones on the field at Gillette Stadium in Foxbourough. They won't be dead, but they will act it! Go PATS!, skin the Cats!

Jags to LA, skids are greased. Los Angeles Dons has a nice ring to it

That is not much of an endorsement, the annual Florida Gators-Georgia Bulldogs game (aka worlds largest cocktail party) would sell out on Mars. The people in the seat are alumni and students, very few townies.

O-town does not want a team, it just wants the right to choose without the NFL saying what team has TV and radio rights.

NFL does not care about stable populations, they are to fickle and are prone to only selling out if the team does well. The NFL wants corporate money for luxury sky boxes and PSL's for long term leases. Jax does not have heavy hitters in the community to keep the franchise long term. The Naval base brings in people from all over with different allegiances, that is why God invented Dish Network and sports bars.

Single ticket sales are nice but not reliable if the team is not doing well. With season tickets in hand, the franchise has the money up six months up front to run operations.
