I have change a lot of people from a longer corridor into a short using mostly the Ellipse.

Keeping in mind that there’s very little intermediate so the reading will come up quickly I also fit about 1mm lower than normal

    Short Corridor Pal Vs Pal

I really think the short corridors are getting a bad rap. I have a pair in the Essilor Ovation short-corridor (poly) with a 16mm seg. and I love them! I also have a pair of regular poly ovation transitions 17 mm seg. and I have no problem switching back and forth. But most of the time I wear B&L soflens mutifocal in a modified mono-vision. At my age you have to be flexible if you want to see and be fashionable.

I use it quite a bit

I use the ellipse quite a bit and I haven't had one person come back. I just make sure that they understand that thet will have a shorter corridor. If they don't think they can adapt they will need a larger frame or computer glasses. I am so tired of seeing people coming in and complaining that they can't read properly with their progressives. Wherever they got their last glasses gave them 15mm when they needed 19mm for a particular lens.

    SolaOne vs Ellipse

    SolaOne to Ellipse = no
SolaOne to Rodenstock Impression ILT XS = yes , but not total better performance.

    Hello Sharon,
I am a licensed dispensing optician. I am very interested in where you found this so called short corridor ovation? I have been in the optical field for over a decade. I have never heard of a short corridor ovation. According to my own personal knowledge and thelensguru.com, an ovation has a minimum fitting height of 17mm and is available in cr-39, poly, transitions poly and 1.67. The lens is not reffered to as a short corridor. I have heard this mysterious lens mentioned by a couple people (costco) over the last couple of days and have become very interested. I do know that essilor manufactures a lens called the small fit. Thanks!
