Mixing different index lenses in the same glasses

Does anyone do this, for example use a 1.60 on one eye and a 1.67 on the other? Or a plastic and a poly? I have never done this because it seems it might cause problems...but would it?

I have a box of 1.54 spectrilite stock lenses, about 70 of them. You can't get 1.54 in stock lenses anymore so now I use a 1.56 if I want a mid index stock aspheric lens.

Usually I don't have a 1.54 lens for both eyes but I would love to use these lenses. Do you think it would bother a person to wear a stock 1.54 in one eye and a stock 1.56 (also aspheric) in the other?

I have done this when the Rx varies 25% or more from one eye to the other in order to get more ballanced edges, etc. No problems but I would not mix aspheric with spherical, or poly with another material.
