Carl Zeiss Vision/Teflon® Clear Coat Lenses to
Sponsor 2006 FBR Open PGA Tournament

Carl Zeiss Vision (CZV) has announced that its Teflon® Clear Coat Lenses brand is an official sponsor of the 2006 FBR Open, taking place January 30 through February 5 in Scottsdale, AZ.

Carl Zeiss Vision is an exclusive sponsor of the Greenskeeper event/venue on behalf of its Phoenix-based lab, Laser Optics, which is certified for Teflon® Clear Coat Lenses. “We have done extensive television and print advertising in the Phoenix area for Teflon® Clear Coat Lenses, with tremendous results,” said Bernadette Hiskey, CZV’s Teflon® Brand Director. “Sponsoring one of the most popular venues at the best-attended golf tournament in the world gives us another outlet to promote this premium product to consumers, and to continue growing the Teflon® Clear Coat AR market in the Phoenix area.”

The FBR Open, formerly called the Phoenix Open, will feature PGA Tour favorites such as defending champion Phil Mickelson, Chris DiMarco and John Daly. The tournament also draws the largest gallery of any golf tournament in the world, with more than 500,000 spectators annually. It is also the largest charitable event in the Phoenix area, raising approximately $6 million annually.

Laser Optics is giving its customers the chance to attend the tournament, according to General Manager Jim Serruys. “Now through January 20, Teflon® Clear Coat Rx jobs will count toward tournament tickets,” he said. “20 pairs will earn four general admission tickets. By ordering more pairs, our customers can earn more tickets, plus more exclusive ‘Greenskeeper’ tickets.”

“We are proud to be a part of this important local event,” Serruys said. “We look forward to spreading the word about Teflon® Clear Coat Lenses and spending time with our customers.”
