    smoker

Here is one, a lady came into the store with broken eyewear wanting to know if I could solder her frame. I told her we could but I need a little time. That was ok but now she wanted a new pair of eyewear too. So while we were looking at frames she explains to me that she had to be careful of the pads because pads react with wear makeup she breaks out and her eyes burn. Now this lady is a nice person but she is a very heavy smoker, as you get close to her the smell of smoke is over whelming. When I took her old eyewear, I had to put them in the ultra sonic cleaner for 15 min to clean them up to get the nicotine off. I did the solder change the pads another cleaning and deliver her eyewear.

When she came back for her new pair, she complained to me that whatever I used solder her old ones with cause eyes to burn for two days.

I would have thought that a heavy smoke would be immune to such things?

Not if you didn't get all the flux (acid) off the repair.
