Confused Can you find the mark

Does anyone have trick for finding the markings on a flat base PAL after the lens is A/R coated. I know in the old days you could use a black light to find the markings, but that dosn't work on A/R coated lenses.
    Any help would be great.

Have you tried steaming the lens over the tint tank or uv ??

Or, I can usually find them if I hold them up looking "against" a fluoresent light.

    HTH ...

    This works for me.

Hold the lens over a black background (flat black preferably) on a desk top or work surface, use a fluorescent light source and tilt the lens back and forth to run the reflection over the surface. Your not looking through the lens but at the front surface reflection and the markings should become visible. Marking them this way does take a steady hand and some practice however.
