    Jedi has a good point.

Miops of -3.00 and higher, specially women (dont call the ACLU) are very picky, very exact and ver sensitive in just about everything. Think back and you will agree with me.

The little difference in lens material might just make her un- comfortable and she give you the excuse you stated as she wants again what she was used to.

In my 23 years in practice I've found that there are some people that just aren't comfortable with anything that's new. We've made lenses in the same Rx with everything exactly the same in the same frame, everything was verified to be exactly the same, and had a few people that claim eye aches, pulls etc. This lady has a history of non-adapt to bifocals and all new glasses. In these situations I have tried a psych exchange and most often the "new" glasses are much better than the first pair. Some people have problems that go beyond the eyes.

    New Glasses

I have run across thei same problems with "New Glasses Trouble". I have been known to "Order a Redo" which amounted to letting them sit in a tray for 4 business days and then re dispense 99% sure the glasses go out and stay out after that. It appears that some people cannot believe glasses can be perfect the first time.
I once had a discussion with an ophthalmologist abouut a particular patient The good doc told me my work was beautiful she was seeing 20/15 OU and still said it wasnt clear. We came to the conclusion the difficulty weal located between the ears...not upon the ears.

Nice work! She must have felt very confident in your skills to be patient enough to see it through to a successful conclusion, especially considering her previous experiences.

I believe that Dr. K had the best explanation for your client's asthenopia (eye ache). The only other solution available that would have retained the improved distance vision (good idea considering that they were distance only glasses!) was to prescribe prism, giving continued permanency to the anisometropic hyperphoria inherited from the previous fitting. How many days of continuous wear did it take for the ache to go away?

On the next Rx/lens change consider an atoric design like the Sola's Vizio. I see a lot of Rx's with moderate to high cyl powers and my clients are extremely pleased with the results.
...after 24 years, I'm still learning.
Ditto-33 years here. The learning experience just goes on and on...
