    Hi,everybody,
I noted that Seiko back surface progressive lens launched and Rodenstock back surface progressive glass,so if I toughen the glass and utilize it as a mold, can I produce the progrogressive lens?

I never heard of anything so daft

The base curve will be awful, the progressions are designed for the rear surface, not the front. The progressions are optimised to work with the front surface design, which isnt spherical, and the Cyl (I believe) is incorporated in the rear surface, where the ADD is

And you would let a patient loose in this?

PALs back surface ( Free Form Technology )

If you would like to produce PALs back surface. You have to buy CNC machine and software that cost 1 million US$.

The most difficult to have profit after you buy CNC machine is you can not make PALs in the mass product like Semi-Finished PALs front surface . The capacity per one machine of CNC is less than 1 % of Semi-Finished PALs front surface.

The best seller of PALs back surface in Thailand is Rodenstock Impression ILT XS 1.6 ABBE 42. This PALs is instant adaptation and far vision like single vision and overall performance is much better than Hoyalux iD 1.6 but the price of Impression ILT XS 1.6 is cheaper than Hoyalux iD 1.6 about 15%.

Our club ( Advance Progressive Addition Lenses ) in Thailand love Impression ILT XS 1.6 and get very successful after lunch in Thailand from 2004.

    ( We have a lot of Thai people who have money too much that always going for the best and don't care about the price. This year we just start to lunch Varilux Ipseo last month. After we test Varilux Ipseo at HE 0.35 and Rodenstock Impression ILT on some wearer , the result at below ;

    1. Varilux Ipseo was better in intermediate , near , horizontal instant focus system , dynamic vision about 30%.

    2. The distance vision of both are about the same in day time.

    3. Impression ILT have better vision at distance in night time.

    4. If think in cost per performance , Impression ILT is much better choice. ( The price of ILT is only 30% of Varilux Ipseo )

    5. We and our customer are waiting for some PALs that better than Varilux Ipseo in every point and we believe that , many customer will pay for 5000.-US$ for it.

The Shamir Autograph (also backside) is the only progressive that I can adapt to.

    Idea Apc Uk

    Good morning QDO1 of UK,

I would like to join with optik shop in UK who would like to focus on premium PALs like Varilux Ipseo , Impression ILT , Hoyalux iD , SolaOne , AO Easy , Shamir Autograph and etc.

We have many of tourist from UK order Redenstock Impression ILT from our group.

I ever have problem with Impression ILT XS 1.67 on Calvin Klein rimless frame , because the mistake of Face Form Angle (FFA) too flat about 3 degree. This mistake make my customer can not read. I have to adjust FFA 3 degree more , then the reading function is perfect.

Note : 1.The demo of rimless frame is about base curve 5.0
2.The base curve of ILT XS 1.67 at Rx - 2.00 is about 2.0

    Greeting from Thailand to UK
