OPTIFACTS INTRODUCES NEW WEB-ENABLED SOLUTION
Optifacts O² Provides Powerful Technology to Optical Laboratories

SARTELL, MN – (November 28, 2005) – Optifacts, Inc., a leading software provider for the optical industry and developer of Optifacts Software®, the premier Lab Management Solution (LMS) for wholesale laboratories, is pleased to announce the beta release of Optifacts O²™, a new web-enabled solution that offers software technology to surfacing and integrated retail labs.

Optifacts O² provides surfacing laboratories and integrated retail laboratories processing 100 jobs per day or less with a cost effective way to enjoy powerful software technology. Optifacts O² uses the Internet to deliver highly advanced surfacing and finishing calculations for virtually every lens product available; automatic interface communications with lab equipment (such as generator, blocker, tracer and edger); complete lens database information including product availability and manufacturer’s technical specifications with barcodes; automatic job routing (to transmit orders to other third-party laboratories who utilize the Optifacts LMS or Optifacts O² software); and the ability to receive orders electronically from both Optifacts TNT® and VisionWebsm remote ordering solutions.

“The web-enabled approach we’ve taken with Optifacts O² is already well established in software used by other industries, but this is the first web-enabled system available to optical laboratories,” said Steve Morris, president of Optifacts. “It’s practical, affordable and offers considerable advantages to both consumer and provider and I believe it will become a model for the next generation of lab systems.”

Optifacts O² order entry is quick and precise, and eliminates common mistakes made by users. Lens information is attached with ease by scanning the barcode on the lens package. With each
order, Optifacts O² accesses a web server hosted by Optifacts via a high speed Internet connection and retrieves the very latest lens technical specifications and surfacing calculations and replies within seconds to store the information locally and print the work ticket. Future releases for Optifacts O² plan to integrate billing, invoicing, inventory control and job tracking features.

“Lab management software is necessary whether you surface 25 or 500 jobs a day, but until now, the cost to implement such a program has hindered us from expanding in this area,” said Shawn Blades, owner of Independent Eye Care, a wholesale lab located in Danvers, MA. “Optifacts O² brings big system functionality down to an affordable level that we can participate in affordably and efficiently.”

“We are very pleased with Optifacts O²,” said Scott Davis, lab manager of Lookabill Optical Laboratory, Inc., a wholesale lab located in Charlotte, NC. “The integrated web services allow us to compete much more effectively with excellent lens processing and modern conveniences like remote ordering through VisionWeb.”

Optifacts O² is developed and maintained using state-of-the-art software tools and takes full advantage of modern methodologies for the Internet. Optifacts O² is virtually user maintenance-free with program and lens database updates applied automatically via the Internet. Optifacts O² is packaged as a secure, turn-key solution and includes the computer, printer, barcode scanner, Internet router and machine interface cables. Currently the Optifacts O² solution is being installed and configured onsite by a qualified Optifacts instructor and includes one full day of training and mentoring services.

Additional labs are schedule for Optifacts O² installations in the near future. Wide distribution should begin early in 2006.
