An Abbe value (aka Nu, Abbe #) is the inverse measure of the dispersive power (ie the breaking apart of light into its component parts) of a lens. The higher the Abbe, the less chromatic aberration. Why do you ask, out of curiosity?

Bser...I see in your profile that you're a lab tech./manager. If that's true, why are you asking about lens manufactures and abbe values. As a lab tech, you should know about lens manufacturers and abbe values. I'm confused on to why you're asking????????
Don't read to much into this question ! First ,lens manu. just seeing what brands people in the optical field like /dislike {not a huge fan of x-cel}! Next, on the abbe value was a case for the proving that people DO care about IT ie A OTHER DEPTMENT IN OUR PLANT THAT DIDN'T THINK IT MATTER TO MUCH.Sorry if this was a un-real question to ask,I was not expecting to get grilled on it!
